Dear Team:
I am sure most of you have been to a musical concert at some point in your lives, maybe a rock concert, or an orchestral concert. When you watch a great guitar player or a violinist or a master piano player it just looks effortless doesn’t it? Well, for them at that moment it very likely is. They are not thinking about what they are doing, they are just doing. Yes, effortless. The truth of the matter is that there have been thousands and thousands of hours of effort spent to make it appear effortless. Every great musician will tell you that and every great musician will tell you they practice every day just so they can make what they do look so easy.
As I roam around our dealership from time to time, I see the same thing in many of you. I talk to our desking managers about how they put deals together, or actually just listen to them, and I realize how much experience they all have and how many deals they have done to get to their place. When I see a team of cleaners get a coach ready for its new family, they know just exactly what to do and I realize how many coaches some of them have done in their careers here. When I see one of our technicians do a repair on a customer unit, I realize that a lot of busted knuckles helped make that look so easy. You might not be playing in front of a packed house, but people appreciate how good you are and I hope you all appreciate how good you are but I also hope you appreciate how much hard work it took to make that happen. So when you walk around our dealership and see the good work being done, recognize how hard it is to make something look easy and say thanks to the person doing it.
Have a great weekend everybody!
Ed
