“Inch by inch life is a cinch, yard by yard life is hard”. I am sure all of you have heard this saying before and it is very true in our society today. I am certain this never happens to you, but it does to me, I almost always start the week with a multitude of things to accomplish, or problems to solve. Sometimes these are issues that carried over from the week before, sometimes Monday is just their day to get resolved and sometimes my carefully planned days get completely disrupted by some random crisis I did not see coming I know this can and likely does happen to all of you as well. If I thought about all of the things that I need to do all at once, I think my head would explode or I would just crawl into a corner and hide but I can’t do either one.
I am expected to solve problems, that is why I am here. So I remind myself of that quote and just try to concentrate on the next step and focus on making it a positive step and just keep pushing, pushing, pushing. I try never to forget where I want to end up but not all of the things I get involved in have ready solutions. Sometimes they have to be discovered or created so I don’t try to get there all at once if all at once isn’t possible. You know what, I can’t tell you how many times I come to work on Monday with a big mountain to climb and by Friday I am at the top. So for all of you, stay focused on that next step and then the next one and then the next one.
