What is more fun than a barrel of monkeys? Collecting them for the kids at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital! Keith Urban is one of the artists set to appear this year at the Bi-Mart Country Music Festival in both Brownsville and Medford. His fan club, The ‘Ville, collects stuffed monkeys during an annual toy drive and gives them to deserving children. The local chapter will bring all collected monkeys up to Portland in time for the Doernbecher Valentine’s Day party. The Monkey Drive has been going for 11 years and continues to grow.
Guaranty Motorized Showcase is a drop-off location this year. Please bring a brand new (with tags attached) stuffed monkey and drop it in the bin by Friday, February 10. “Kohl’s Department Stores are selling Curious George monkeys for $5. The Kohl’s monkeys also benefit children health and education programs, so it’s a great win-win,” said coordinator, Sonja Smith. The motorhome lot is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm and they open at 9 am on Saturday and 10 am on Sunday.
