The #1 Class C: Winnebago Navion 24G

In our last blog, we talked about our #1 selling travel trailer, the Jayco Jay Flight SLX. This week, we want to talk about the #1 Class C, the Winnebago Navion 24G. This Class C is award winning in its category because of the one-of-a-kind custom built details as well as the overall luxury look and feel. Let’s take a look at what makes this RV a good purchase for a traveling couple or small family, and what makes the Navion 24G one of our top sellers.
The Benefits of a Class C

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, we love Class C’s. Class C motorhomes are a bestseller in North America because of their versatility. The main reason shoppers fall in love with Class C’s is because they offer RVers the ability to fit a full family without the size and limited mobility of a Class A. This means more time spent boondocking and also more campsites to choose from, which saves you money. The smaller size also allows travelers to access more beautiful state parks and harder to reach destinations. Size and capacity are the main reasons RVers choose a Class C, but there are other reasons to choose this style of RV such as:

They are easy to drive. If you are a first time RVer, or you haven’t spent much time driving a larger vehicle, a Class C is an easy transition from a large van or SUV. This is because in a Class A, the steering column is in the center of your legs, and the pedals are placed on the right side. Whereas in a Class C, the pedals are in the same position as your car. Plus, with a smaller vehicle, the turn radius is tighter, which makes driving a breeze.
They are built closer to the ground. Class C’s are built closer to the ground, giving them two benefits—the first being that they are easier to get in and out of. The second is a lower center of gravity. Class C’s are easier to drive in adverse weather because of their low center of gravity and maneuverability.
Class C RVs are safer. The build of a Class C is generally more safe, because the nose allows for more of a crumple zone, whereas Class A motorhomes usually have a flat front nose which creates more of a risk when driving. The overall construction of the cockpit in a Class C is safer because there is more room for the driver in a collision.
Engine repair is easier in a Class C. If you need a quick repair on your engine, it will be much easier in a Class C than a Class A. The engine is located in the front, whereas in a Class A, the engine can be difficult to access in the under carriage. Because the engine is in the front, it also makes finding a mechanic on the road much easier than with a Class A.
If fuel efficiency is important to you, a Class C is a better option than a Class A. Most Class C motorhomes are much more fuel efficient than Class A motorhomes, which is a bonus for your pocketbook and the environment.
Less interior space means less space to heat and cool. Just like buying a smaller house, a smaller RV means that the temperature inside will be easier to regulate.
There are many reasons to purchase a Class C motorhome and if you’re ready to shop the market, the Winnebago Navion 24G should be one of the top motorhomes on your list to explore.

Why We Love Winnebago Industries

Winnebago is an Iowa-based company founded in 1958 with a mission to “create lifetime advocates through a relentless focus on delivering an unsurpassed customer experience.” One of the values we appreciate about Winnebago is their ability to listen to customers and update, innovate and construct floorplans that suit the lives of RVers.

Most competitors don’t have the ability to create custom parts like Winnebago. Winnebago has created a production model that allows for them to have their own furniture line called StitchCraft, as well as their own plastics and wiring divisions.

The StitchCraft process allows Winnebago to make high-quality furniture. Most Winnebago competitors make basic furniture that feels comfortable at first, but breaks down quickly. Because Winnebago has their own in-house furnishing division, the company can create long-lasting furniture to make you feel at home in your RV. As we mentioned earlier, Winnebago listens to their customers and creates what they feel is needed most. If you feel you need a more comfortable bed, or a special seat cushion, Winnebago listens, and can create it. The Navion 24G even has a bed that elevates for reading a book or watching your favorite movie in comfort.

An in-house custom plastics and wiring division allows Winnebago to add even more customization to their RVs. As we will talk about later, the custom plastics allow for Winnebago to curve the plastic on the inside of the vehicle in a special way to create more storage, as well as add a luxury look. Winnebago has also created their own interacting wall joints you won’t find anywhere else. These interacting wall joints ensure there is no “wobbly box”, otherwise known as an unsupported frame. Competitors have to attach cabinets and other pieces on the inside to secure the frame, while Winnebago has found a better solution with their custom interacting wall joint.

When you’re out on the backroad, sometimes you have to service your own vehicle. Maybe it’s just a quick fix and all you need to do is find the right wire. Sometimes, finding that wire is a difficult task—Winnebago has solved this problem through its custom wiring. Winnebago actually labels all of their wiring harnesses, so you know exactly which cord leads to what. Along with labeled wires, Winnebago has accurate shrink tubing. This shrink tubing helps prevent wires from being accidentally disconnect or sparking a fire.

Winnebago has created their own brand with all their own furniture and pieces, compared to competitors who all use the same stock pieces. Now that you know why we love the brand Winnebago and Class C motorhomes, let’s talk about our top selling model, the Winnebago Navion 24G.

The Winnebago Navion 24G

The most important part about the Navion 24G is the chassis. Built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, this Class C provides not only fuel efficiency and mobility, but also power. The benefit to a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter frame compared to a Chevrolet is that a Sprinter body has much more towing ability and power. Also, a Mercedes chassis generally has upgraded features and equipment that comes standard. Throughout the entire Winnebago Navion 24G, you will find innovation and upgraded technology. Plus, this vehicle is very fuel efficient for an RV, with a whopping 14-18 MPG.

The Winnebago Navion 24G has the right amount of space for a small family or couple on the road. It is the perfect size to maneuver national parks, and the fancy features make it one of the most popular coaches in the country. As we mentioned earlier, Winnebago takes pride in listening to their consumers, which is why they’ve designed literally every inch with the consumer in mind. One of the features that customers really love about the Winnebago Navion 24G is all the space added through a unique design change to the bathroom. In the bathroom of the Winnebago Navion 24G, you’ll see a unique rotating sink. This sink moves from over the toilet to into the shower which allows you to have more space in the coach overall.

The floorplan of the Navion 24G is family friendly and can easily sleep 6 people. There is a slide out where the queen bed is in the back of the coach. This slide out provides enough space to fit a 60X75 inch walk-around bed, in a coach that is only 25ft long (a rare find!). The dinette features a very stable table, and converts into a comfortable bed. The bed above the cockpit offers plenty of sleeping space for two people, and features a mattress from Winnebago’s very own StitchCraft.

Winnebago has thought of everything when it comes to the interior of the coach. Instead of basic fabric siding on the interior, Winnebago makes custom plastic pieces for the interior of your vehicle. Not only does this look nicer, but Winnebago has made it possible for you to have storage in every inch of the interior of the motorhome. All windows throughout the vehicle have custom darkening shades—and not just fabric curtains, we’re talking about fancy honeycomb curtains that fully insulate your vehicle. Even the skylight has added detail—with another fancy curtain and a screen to keep the bugs out. Winnebago also provides LED lights throughout the whole interior of the motorhome.

The main space of the vehicle features a beautiful kitchen, with plenty of storage for all of your favorite camping gadgets. There is a double door fridge, double basin sink and an extended faucet for washing bigger pots. There is also a hanging closet and a privacy screen, so that you can separate yourself from the rest of the coach if needed.

We mentioned the unique bathroom with a sink that rotates, but get this—the shower has a self-squeegeeing door. Winnebago even took the pain out of a simple procedure, that’s how much they care about their customers. Also, the water inside the Winnebago Navion 24G is the purest, thanks to a system built into the RV. This custom built system makes the Navion easy to weatherize, with a simple station on the side that allows for the water to flow out.

The Winnebago Navion 24G is luxurious, compact, and detailed from the inside out. Now that it’s clear why the Winnebago Navion 24G is one of our most popular coaches, you have to try one for yourself! Contact us today for more information.
