In this two-part blog, we’re going to discuss two of our favorite Class A motorhome manufacturers and the notable new features that are coming in for 2016. We’ve done the research and the testing, we’ve talked to thousands of RV owners, and we’re proud to carry these top-of-the-line brands.
This week we’ll look at motorized Class A vehicles by Itasca, and next week we’ll talk about diesel pushers from Newmar.
Class A Motorhomes
If you’re looking for a gas-powered Class A motorhome, you’ll find that you have a lot of worthwhile options. Introduced by Winnebago Industries in 1975, Itasca has become synonymous with reliability, flexibility and luxury. Three of our favorite gas-powered Itasca Class A motorhomes are the Sunstar, the Sunova and the Suncruiser.
If you’re looking for family-friendly floor plans and budget-friendly pricing, then the Sunstar should be on your list of must-sees. Itasca offers this line in three floor plans ranging from 27 to 31 feet. You’ll get standard features that you usually wouldn’t find in this price range, like the Versa easy-swivel driver’s seat, a dash workstation with USB cable connection, power patio awning and much more. For 2016, Itasca also offers add-on features such as an exterior entertainment center and power StudioLoft™ beds and bunk beds, so you can create exactly the floor plan your family needs.
If you’re looking to step up your Class A motorhome lifestyle, you’ll want to take a look at the Sunova. This line gives you four models to chose from, ranging from 34 to 37 feet. Here you’ll find standard features that include Swivel Ultraleather cab seats, Corian countertops, electric fireplaces, a choice of queen or king beds, leveling jacks with three-position controls, power patio awnings with LED lighting, and the list just keeps going. This year you can also choose from flexible features like retractable HDTVs, inLounge extendable sectional sofas and movable inTables, as well as the power StudioLoft drop-down cab bed. With a Sunova, you can have that stepped-up level of luxury you want on the road.
If you want the ultimate in comfort and luxury, however, be sure to explore Itasca’s Suncruiser. Ranging from 34 to 38 feet, this line is designed to give diesel-pusher performance in a gas-powered motorhome. The standard model gives you a 362 horsepower 6.8 liter SEFI Triton engine with a TorqShift 6-speed overdrive transmission for ultimate power and towing performance. For 2016, it comes standard with an Ultraleather™ Versa easy-swivel driver’s seat, MCD solar/blackout roller shades, a Blu-ray home theater system and the Rand McNally RV GPS Infotainment Center. You can also choose from a long list of new luxury features like power beds with Ideal Rest Natural Reserve digital comfort control mattresses with remotes, and exterior entertainment centers with 32” HDTV.

Because Itasca RVs have such lasting value, you can find pre-owned Class A models in a very affordable price range.
