In its 50th year of business Guaranty Chevrolet and RV Super Centers has been named the 2015 Pillar of the Community Award winner at the Springfield Chamber of Commerce 66th Annual Awards & Installation Banquet on Friday, January 15. Bob Smith, Chevrolet General Sales Manager, along with his wife Terry, accepted the award. Shannon Nill, Guaranty President, called the award “epic and fantastic. We have tons of pride. A lot of big companies were in the running and we won.”
Over 250 influential community leaders, business executives, elected officials and Chamber members attended the “Red Carpet Affair”–themed event held at the Lane Community College Center for Meeting and Learning. The dinner celebrated “outstanding businesses and individuals for their invaluable contributions to Springfield and the metro area.” Entertainment was provided by former Huey Lewis and the News songwriter and guitarist Chris Hayes and his Quartet.
The bridge between Junction City and Springfield is strong. “The communities have a lot in common and share similar values,” said Nill. The new Executive Director and CEO of the Chamber Vonnie Mikkelsen grew up in Junction City and Nill lived in Springfield after college.
