December 6, 2011, Junction City, Ore. — Guaranty Discount Chevrolet and RV Super Centers is hosting its annual Santa Claus is coming to Town celebration on December 10 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Guaranty Chevrolet New Car Showroom
at First and Ivy in Junction City, OR. The celebration includes free hot cocoa, cookies and photos with Santa.
This will make a visit with Santa easy and fun for children in Lane County, allowing families to skip the mall and expense, without missing those treasured memories or photos. At the same time, this gathering will serve to collect food for Junction City Local Aid.
“Kids love the opportunity to see Santa and parents love collecting the traditional Santa photos every year. We know some people will attend because they’re more comfortable here than at a mall, but we also want to be sure that every family has the opportunity to create these holiday memories,” said Shannon Nill, owner of Guaranty. “Families who may be struggling to make ends meet or who have multiple children can come out and enjoy the festivities without worrying about another holiday expense.”
Guaranty will have a barrel to collect non-perishable items for Junction City Local Aid. However, donating is not required. Kids, parents, and folks of all ages are welcome to attend for treats and photos. Parents can have an old-fashioned 4×6 photo mailed to them.
“Collecting food for Junction City Local Aid also allows everyone to feel good as the gathering is benefiting so many, including such a worthwhile organization,” said Nill.
This is Guaranty’s fourth event held for Junction City Local Aid this year: the first being the “Can Do!” Food Drive with KVAL; the second was the employee-centered Great Rotary Duck Race ticket giveaway; and the third being the Facebook campaign.
The items collected by the Junction City Local Aid provide food to local, low-income residents. The organization also helps to provide monthly emergency food boxes, energy assistance, medical assistance, bus tokens, clothing and information.
