March 9, 2011, Junction City, Ore. — Guaranty Discount Chevrolet and RV Super Centers sold surplus items from its Parts and RV Service Departments to community members as part of its First Annual Sidewalk Sale, which raised more than $1,000 for the March of Dimes.
“It was a win-win situation for everyone,” said Shannon Nill, owner of Guaranty. “It gave us another opportunity to give back to the community who has been supportive of our dealership for the last 45 years.”
One hundred percent of the proceeds of the sidewalk sale will be used to support the team that Guaranty is forming as it’s joins more than 20,000 other companies who will walk in the March for Babies® this year. The 2011 Lane County march takes place on Saturday, April 30 at Alton Baker Park.
“So far employees, their families and friends have donated more than $400.” said Guaranty Collision Repair Center Manager and March of Dimes Team Captain Jeff Lewis, “That brings our total to $1,400 and we still have more than 50 days to go! The walk will culminate the fundraiser and give Guaranty employees a chance to celebrate their efforts. Look for our banner!”
The money raised in the March for Babies® funds important research and programs that help babies begin healthy lives. Money already raised has helped to create treatments to cure vision defects, identify a gene responsible for oral clefts, provide nitric oxide therapies and much more.
