Owner of Guaranty Chevrolet
Shannon Nill practically grew up on the showroom floor of Guaranty Chevrolet. Beginning at the age of six years old Shannon helped his father Herb Nill wash cars and do many other things around the dealership. From those formative years would come a strong foundation for running the car dealership and overseeing what would become one of the top RV dealers in the United States.
Shannon recalls when RVs began arriving for sale on the lot at the Chevrolet dealership. In those early days of the RVing the entire Nill family would load up their RV with everything needed for a memorable family adventure. The Nill family enjoyed many visits to the Oregon Coast or nearby Cascade Mountains. An avid skier, Shannon and the rest of the family would venture out on snowy mountain passes to have some fun on the slopes.
In 1985 Shannon graduated from Oregon State University (OSU) with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a minor in Business. Both would serve him well as he developed a large book of business at Guaranty RV Super Centers and Chevrolet. A short 15 years, later Shannon took over the Chevrolet dealership and runs the day-to-day operations as owner. In addition, he oversees Guaranty RV Super Centers as the general manager.
As an OSU graduate he’s a strong supporter of athletics and The Beaver Nation. Each football season Shannon takes time to make a public bet with his father Herb who graduated from Oregon University (UO). The Civil War rivalry between this father son pair and the two universities entertains customers and fans alike each year. Although Shannon pledges allegiance to OSU Beavers, he still loves UO Ducks.
Today Shannon serves on various boards and committees. He is president of the Oregon Recreational Vehicle Dealers Association and an active member of the Eugene Airport Advisory Committee having recently served as chair.
When Shannon isn’t busy volunteering or working at the dealership, he enjoys spending time with his wife Barbara Nill who heads up the Guaranty RV Traveler’s Club. The travel club was the first of its kind founded by an RV dealer. Together Shannon and Barbara have 15 nieces and nephews. Both revel in the RV lifestyle and like to fish and travel together as time permits.
