Looking Back on 2010

As the year officially winds to a close, we look back on 2010 with heartfelt gratitude for all the opportunities and blessings that came Guaranty's way.
We were pleased to continue our support of Lane County 4-H even having one 4-H club (Savvy Stars and Stripes) come out to help us wash cars for our inaugural Saturn Rally! The kids did a fantastic job.
We hosted the Junction City - Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce "Greeters" on two occasions, once on our "home turf", and once at the Eugene Pro Rodeo. We were glad to renew our support of the rodeo, and offer our customers and friends special passes to this exciting summertime event.
Speaking of summertime fun, it's not summer in Junction City without a trip to the Scandinavian Festival! This year was the Festival's 50th anniversary. We cleared out special parking on our lot closest to the festival grounds, and opened it up for free Festival parking for our friends and neighbors for this big occasion. And as always, we resumed our popular seasonal Tuesday Barbecues at our motorized RV showroom- this included a visit from the team at Newmar.
In his role as Airport Advisory Committee Chair, Chevrolet Dealer Shannon Nill participated in the dedication of the renovated runway at the Eugene Airport (EUG).
KVAL's telethon "Miles for Smiles" for the Make-A-Wish foundation was broadcast live from Guaranty's RV showroom. Alaska Airlines matched the miles that were donated that day.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition came to Salem, and in addition to amazing renovations, created a beautiful new dorm at Oregon's School for the Deaf. Guaranty supplied the RVs used by the Extreme Makeover crew.
We were proud to be a co-sponsor the Willamette Country Music Festival - it was a great event, and the 2011 Festival will be even better!
As most of you know, the University of Oregon - Oregon State University rivalry is a pretty big deal - and certainly no less at Guaranty during football season! We revealed a new website, CivilWarBet.com, and continued our tradition of a Civil War-themed commercial. This year, Herb Nill's Ducks were victorious, which resulted in Beaver Shannon Nill receiving a televised pie to the face...the last of the many pies given away to our customers in the weeks before the big game.
Guaranty also continued its support of the St. Vincent de Paul, with friends and employees contributing to our annual sock and hat drive...this kept many heads and feet warm and toasty this cold winter. We also were proud to display one of the ingenious change-for-change parking meters that help raise funds to assist the homeless.
There were many great events that we've failed to mention, but the best way we could have ever wrapped up 2010 was with this great trio: a holiday party for our wonderful employees, an employee-sponsored Christmas gift drive for the residents of our local nursing home, and last but not least: a visit from Santa Claus, with cocoa, cookies, and free photos with Santa for everyone in our community.
We are always thankful for our customers, who have become friends and are the reason for our continued success. Best wishes to all of you for a prosperous and happy new year!
